How it works
This Event is Open to the Public
Registration will open at 9 am on the day of the match, please check in on the 50 yard line before 9:45 am. There will be a safety meeting held at 9:45 am with the match starting at 10 am. You must be present for the safety meeting if you wish to participate in the match. We welcome all to this family friendly event, even if you just want to watch your friends and family shoot. We enjoy having the community at the club. Please bring a chair and enjoy the event.

Rules of the Match
- Targets are 8 swinging steel targets at 50 yards, ranging in size from 2” diameter to ¼” diameter in ¼” increments.
- Target value goes up as size goes down (2,2,3,4,6,8,10,15). 50 points possible per set.
- Targets must be shot in order, largest to smallest. Target must visibly “swing” to be counted as a hit (Range Officials decisions are final). If a target is shot at and missed, If a target is shot out of order, or if a shooter begins shooting before the “FIRE” command is given, All accumulated points for that set will be lost.
- You may stop at any time and keep all points earned for that set.
- If time runs out and you have not missed, you keep your points for that set.
- A Match is 3 sets of fire. Score for a match is the total from those 3 sets.
- There is a 2-minute time limit per set starting at the Fire command.
Commands
- “Shooter to the line” (shooter brings equipment the firing line.)
- “Load and make ready” (20 seconds to load and setup rifle.) Time starts when shooters butt hits the seat or shooter is in the prone position.
- “Fire” or whistle/buzzer (2 minutes to engage 8 targets)
- A hit will be indicated by the scorer calling “Impact”
- A miss will be indicated by the scorer calling “Miss”
- At the conclusion of a set the commands will be “Shooter, unload and make your firearm safe, insert an Empty Chamber Indicator and remove your equipment from the firing line”
Details
- Shooting position: Bench or Prone.
- 50-yard targets.
- 8 shots in 2-minute time limit.
- Visible target movement must be evident to score a hit. A nicked target counts. A high arm hit is a miss. A Range Officials decision is final.
- 22 LR/ Air Rifle only. No Stingers, Magnums, or .17 caliber.
- NO rifles with tubular fed magazines.
- Ammo limitations: Must be less than 1300 feet per second at the muzzle.
- Any ammunition found to create target damage will be disqualified.
- No rifle or scope restrictions.
- Front bipod, rest or bags are allowed.
- No adjustable or one-piece rests. No lead sleds.
- A rear bag is allowed. No monopods or mechanical rear support devices.
- No slings are allowed.
- Eye and ear protection required. Ear protection optional if suppressed.
- An Empty Chamber Indicator (ECI) MUST be installed when not at the bench.
- Ties will be broken in a shoot off.
- No scores will be announced until the end of the match.
- NO COACHING – Shooter is responsible for hitting correct target and appropriate dope for wind, etc.
Things to bring with you
- Eye and ear protection (this is required to be worn by all, even spectators).
- Water, Sunscreen, Bug spray.
- A chair is good idea too.
- Bring a good sense of humor as we are not all good shooters, but we all want to have fun.
